A leading Chicago-based private equity firm specializing in industrial business services and value-added distribution is seeking a highly motivated Investment Associate to join its dynamic team. The firm partners with lower middle-market companies, driving growth through strategic investment, operational improvement, and long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct in-depth industry research and market analysis to identify attractive investment opportunities within the firm's target sectors.
• Perform financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence on potential acquisitions.
• Support deal execution, including transaction structuring, negotiations, and coordination with legal and financial advisors.
• Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to implement strategic initiatives, monitor performance, and drive operational improvements.
• Prepare investment memoranda and present findings to the firm's Investment Committee.
• Maintain and develop relationships with intermediaries, industry experts, and potential portfolio companies.
Qualifications:
• 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or a related field.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated interest in industrial services, distribution, or related sectors.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
